Swallows and Amazons forever

This week we have had a real mix on board ,a young strong guy from up north , a local retired barber from Plymouth and a two families from Oxford. We have been living the Swallows and Amazons life, cooking on beach over an open fire, swimming everywhere even in thunder storms, picnics and shanty singers at the Gallants in Fowey. For our second voyage to the Isles of Scilly we were hoping for similar weather and great sailing and we got it. We also got to sail with three awesome families. The third family cruised on Eve of St Mawes alongside us. We would tend to eat together in the evenings all round Grayhound’s massive Oak table, it was raucous but wonderful. Memories for us of a wonderful summer holiday , we hope our families enjoyed it just as much. For Malachi he had so many play mates  the kids gravitated together playing all the time. An adventurous bunch they were all, swimming to the shore, walking around the islands and sailing the Grayhound so well together as a team. Thank you to the Winkfield and the Hackett families. Special thanks to the girls( and Hugo)  for a wonderful explore on St Martins one morning, i shall never forget it, Corsica pine woods, produce for sale on the side, Cape Gooseberries, fresh bread, blue coves and sandy spits. A week in the life of the Grayhounders

Grayhound has had an awesome week sailing from Cawsand to Penzance doesn’t get much better for the West Country. Day 1 sail hoisting, smoked salmon, white wine, rowing , evening light. Day 2 Sunshine sail, light winds, soup and toast, Mevagissey, fish and chips, pint on the wall, Cornish dancing, singing, Mirror calm at anchor, moonlit night , calm and peaceful Day 3  Rope work , splicing, sailing, Quiche and salad, St Mawes, Debbie, cool white wine, quay wall, crowds, curry and sage tea Day 4  Fruit salad on deck, coffee, Golowen summer solstice festival, Mounts Bay sailing, lovely dinners round the table, beer and sunshine....
