Sailtech in Penryn are proudly making Grayhound’s 9 sails. They are being made out of a cream coloured cloth called Duradon. Duradon has a feel like natural canvas but it is a synthetic material and lasts well.

Sailtech came to measure the main sails in late September and are already working on the mainsail and have completed a jib. Sailtech are renowned for making excellent race sails but jumped at the chance to work on something slightly different and complement their repertoire.

Grayhound’s jib under construction

They will be making Grayhound’s sails to look and sail in a traditional way but they will add some hidden tricks to help her sailing performance.

We are very happy to be working with Peter and the team……happy sewing !
